Sit back and enjoy a guided dog sled ride through Lapland’s wilderness before gathering for a traditional hot lunch around the fire.
Before setting off, you will meet our enthusiastic Alaskan Huskies and experience the excitement as the kennel comes alive in anticipation of the adventure ahead. Guests are welcome to assist with harnessing the dogs before departure, although participation is entirely voluntary.
After being dressed in warm winter clothing and receiving a brief safety introduction, you will settle comfortably into a large wooden sled lined with warm reindeer skins. Feel the excitement as your team eagerly pulls away from the kennel and into the vast landscapes surrounding Kiruna. Without the responsibility of driving, you can fully immerse yourself in the journey - capturing stunning photographs and watching the incredible teamwork of the huskies.
Our trails wind through sparse Arctic forests, across frozen marshlands and wide-open terrain, where panoramic views of the surrounding fjäll stretch across the horizon. Away from snowmobile traffic and crowded tourist routes, you can enjoy the silence, the power of the dogs and the feeling of true Arctic wilderness.
After returning to the kennel, guests are welcome to help unharness and care for the dogs before we gather in our cosy tipi. While enjoying a freshly prepared, traditional hot lunch around the fire, there is plenty of time to learn more about sled dogs, life in the far north, and what it takes to train and care for a team of working Alaskan Huskies.
The complete experience lasts approximately 3.5 hours, including transfers, warm clothing, introduction, dog handling, the sled tour and lunch. From the excitement of harnessing the dogs to sharing stories around the fire afterwards, this tour offers an authentic glimpse into the everyday life of a sled dog kennel in Arctic Sweden.
