ACCOMODATION

  • Is there a transfer available?

Yes, we can pick you up at the airport, train station or City Center of Kiruna for an additional fee of SEK 300 one way. We can pick you up earliest 15.00 p.m. (check in time). We will try to fit your transfer in our schedule with other transfers, so there is a possibility it might be later than your arrival time.

During your stay here, you can also request a transfer to Kiruna for an additional fee. Contact us for more information.

  • What can I do in Kiruna if I have to wait for a transfer to Husky Dreams?

We advice you go to the new city center near Scandic Hotel and explore the shops and restaurant while you wait.

  • Where can I buy some groceries?

There are shops in the City Center of Kiruna, it’s a 15 min drive from here. If you don’t have your own car, we will go to shop groceries with you directly after we pick you up.

  • Where are the accommodations?

Our house, the dog kennels and our house are all located in the same area. You are really sleeping in between the huskies.

  • Can I bring a dog with me?

No, it’s not possible. We want to preserve our dogs from diseases.

  • Can I pet the dogs?

Sure! They love to be cuddled. Just don’t enter the fences without a member of our staff.

  • How does the traditional toilet work?

It is an outdoor toilet, with no heating system. A member of our staff will explain how to use it once you arrive here.

  • Where is the shower and dishwashing area?

The sauna, shower and dishwashing area are in the basement of our house. You share this with other guests.

  • Is it mandatory to book a dogsledding tour or snowmobile tour?

It´s mandatory when you book your accommodation in the months of December until March.

TOURS

  • Which clothes should I wear for the tours?

The most important thing is layering and air between layers to give you the optimal warmth. Moreover, too many layers restrict air and does not create warmth. It is the air that makes you warm. Especially for your feet! One pair of wool socks is much warmer than many layers of cotton socks. Wear wool not cotton!  We provide you with outdoor layers such as suits and boots for during the tour.

  • Is there a maximum weight?

Yes. To make sure the dogs have the fair amount of weight to pull we have a weight limit of 100 kg. If you are over 100 kg please contact us before booking since we have to charge a fee for extra dogs or sleds.

  • Can I drive a sledge on my own?

Yes, but in that case you have to book for two persons as a drive yourself.

  • Do my partner and I share one sledge?

If you booked two ´drive yourself´ tours, you are guaranteed that you will share a sled. Usually you switch driving half way but it´s up to you two if you want that or not. If you book a ´drive yourself´ a tour as a passenger you are not guaranteed that you will share a sled.

  • Can we take photos during the tour?

If you drive a sled you are not allowed to take photos. It´s important that you focus on the dogsledding. If you are a passenger you can take photos. We do stop sometimes to let the dogs rest a bit but those moments are not meant to get off the sled and take photos. If you want to get off a sled to take photos you have to talk to one of the guides first to ask if it´s possible that tour.

  • When should we arrive for the tour?

It’s really important that you arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled time, since we will need time to give you proper instructions before leaving. While you dress we prepare the dogs and they are excited to go, so we can´t wait too long to start. Please make sure you used the bathroom before arriving at our place.
In case you don´t have a car, you have to write us an email directly after you booked for pick up information. If you don´t contact us where assume that you come by yourself. Transfers are included in the hours mentioned on the website.

  • Is the tour cancelled if it is bad weather?

No, we always adjust our tours so they are suited for every weather condition. Snow, wind and cold are part of the environment that we work in.

  • Can we see wildlife?

If you’re lucky enough, you’ll see wildlife. Of course, we can’t guarantee it. But you can find all kind of wildlife tracks during the tour.

  • Do we get instructions?

If Yes both as a driver or passenger you´ll get instructions. Please make sure you understand English to follow safety instructions and to communicate during the tour. If your English is not good enough we can decide to change you to a passenger if you booked a ´drive yourself´.

  • Is the lunch vegetarian?

No the lunch includes fish. Please notify us if you´re vegetarian or when you have allergies.
